Position Summary
The purpose of the General Manager includes but is not limited to providing strong business leadership in order to achieve optimal customer satisfaction, long term growth and success of operations. In addition the General Manager will demonstrate a proven ability to grow and lead a profitable production facility. Duties must be performed consistent with company mission and values and adherence to company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Leads and directs, through Managers, regarding operational activities including financial, production, safety and quality
- Works closely with the Managers to identify, develop, and implement the business unit’s growth and expansion initiatives and efficient work processes
- Formulates and recommends business unit strategy and operational objectives, identifies and implements approved strategies while monitoring performance against established performance objective and targets
- Responsible for business unit financials, including budgeting and setting financial targets
- Participates in business unit decision making and provides input in aligning overall business strategies and corporate goals with other business units/divisions
- Responsible for business unit’s safety, governance, and human resource activities
- Provides leadership in enhancing customer relations that are deemed essential to market share growth
Qualifications:
- Successful manager and business leader with a minimum of ten (10) years experience within an sheet metal fabricator or manufacturing environment. Experience in the management of different functional areas such as production, engineering, marketing, and accounting
- Professional designation would be an asset
- Solid understanding in the financial makeup of a successful company
- Well-organized, results driven, energetic team player with excellent communication skills
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to create and maintain a positive environment focused on maximizing the skills and abilities of all employees
- Solid leadership capabilities and team building skills; motivated for self and team development
