
SUMMARY: The Manager of Quality takes a hands-on management style and delivers an extraordinary level of expertise and excellence in the direction of the quality program. Work directly for the C.O.O. and be responsible for the overall quality operations at all corporate sites. Work with the Site Leader and Senior Management team to meet all internal and customer requirements to include documented and contractual requirements as they may arise. Develop new procedures and quality processes as required for expansion and growth in all areas of the business. Includes introduction of new quality concepts, processes, statistical analysis and standardization of quality systems company wide. Assist in training, reporting, and specialized process development as needed by the individual sites. Develop quality functions that meet the needs of new and specialized processes. A working knowledge of S.P.C., I.S.O. and it’s application to precision sheet metal, plastic molding, machining, and coatings processes in assisting the development of new manufacturing lines, cells or areas.
Duties:
• Co-ordinate quality resources company wide
• Develop and institute new quality methods and procedures
• Monitor quality requirements and results all sites
• Work with Site Leaders on individual needs or requirements
• Work directly with Customers to assure satisfaction and understand requirements
• Make sure tier #1 and tier #2 documentation meet the overall needs of all sites
• Give direction to the QMS Manager on quality systems and documentation
• Work with the outsourcing team to assure adequate procedures and reporting in are in place to meet AMF and customer needs
• Assure accurate reporting to Senior Management from all sites.
Responsibilities:
• QMS Manager and it’s function
• Working with the Site Leaders on quality staffing and equipment requirements
• Reporting directly to the C.O.O. on all quality operations
• Develop new quality procedures and method to meet customer requirements
• Improve the internal quality systems required for growth and development through a working knowledge of our core competencies
• Monthly and Quarterly quality reports to Senior Management Team on all sites and combined metrics for the teams
• Overall quality system performance and applications
• Direct interface with customers on quality development and expansion of new processes and products
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: B.S. or B.A. degree preferred, however prior Precision Sheet Metal Manufacturing and related processes, Plastic Molding – Structural Foam, Injection Molding, Wet Paint, Powder Coat processes and Machining experience may apply with a combination of skills and formal schooling may substitute including but not limited to:
• Lean / World Class Manufacturing Principles
• Statistical Process Control
• Statistical Analysis
• Machine Qualification
• Six Sigma; Black Belt Required
• ISO – Systems and Auditing
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English, Bilingual Spanish a Plus
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Above average math and reasoning skills, ability to create graphs, knowledge of percentages and formulas preferred.
REASONING ABILITY: Able to handle difficult situations with diplomacy, make common sense decisions, ability to multi-task, think quickly and manage duties in a fast-paced environment.
